No. 20/20 Michigan State split the season series with Michigan after falling to the Wolverines, 71-61 on National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Sunday afternoon at the Breslin Center. MSU won the meeting in Ann Arbor on Jan. 25, 88-58. MSU had a season-high crowd of 11,043 packed into the Breslin Center, which was 18th-best in school history.

Michigan State Women’s Basketball junior forward Grace VanSlooten was named one of the top 10 candidates for the Cheryl Miller Award, as announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) on Wednesday. The Spartans will try to have a different outcome when they hit the road for a matchup against Rutgers at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
