After getting back on track with a home victory over Purdue, Michigan State looks to start a new winning streak by taking on Nebraska. No. 15/17 Michigan State women’s basketball suffered its first loss of the season to RV/No. 24 Alabama, 82-67, at the West Palm Beach Classic on Friday evening at Rubin Arena. With the loss, the Spartans fall to 11-1 this season. Alabama improves to 11-1 with the victory.

No. 15/17 Michigan State women’s basketball opened the West Palm Beach Classic with a dominating 69-38 win over Montana Thursday, behind a tough defense that forced 30 Lady Griz turnovers. With the win, the Spartans improved to 11-0, which is extends their best start in program history. Montana falls to 4-6, losing three-straight games.

Despite trailing by as many as nine points in the fourth quarter, the No. 17/19 Spartan women’s basketball team defeated No. 21/25 Iowa, 68-66 on Sunday afternoon at the Breslin Center in the Big Ten opener for both squads. With the win, the Spartans improved to 10-0, which is extends their best start in program history and 1-0 in B1G action.

Michigan State women’s basketball saw a nice jump in the updated Associated Press (AP) Top 25 rankings released on Monday.The Spartans made their first appearance of the season in the rankings last week, and this week they moved up to No. 17. Michigan State moved up a total of seven spots.

Michigan State women’s basketball had a record-setting day en route to defeating DePaul, 89-61, Sunday afternoon at the Breslin Center. With the win, the Spartans improved to 9-0, which is their best start in program history. Prior to the game, MSU head coach Robyn Fralick honored graduate guard/forward Julia Ayrault and junior forward Grace VanSlooten for both scoring 1,000 career points. Both reached the 1,000-point plateau at the Acrisure Classic last week.
