Michigan State women’s basketball senior guard Nia Clouden added to her award list when she named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association (WBCA) honorable mention All-America team, as announced on Thursday. Clouden’s honor is the 11th All-America accolade in program history and the first since Tori Jankoska during the 2016-17 season.

MSU’s Second-Half Comeback Falls Short against OSU in Big Ten Tournament
No. 8-seeded Michigan State had its Big Ten Tournament run come to an end against top-seeded Ohio State, 74-58, Friday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The Spartans fought to overcome a 20-point first-half deficit. Michigan State ends the season with a 15-15 record, while Ohio State advances to the semifinals with a 23-5 mark.

Four Spartans in Double Figures as Spartans Advance in Big Ten Tournament
With four players in double figures, the No. 8-seeded Michigan State women’s basketball team defeated No. 9-seeded Purdue, 73-69, in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament Thursday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. This is the third time in the last four seasons that the Spartans have reached the quarterfinals. Michigan State snapped a three-game losing streak with the win against the Boilermakers, improving to 15-14 this season. Purdue now stands 16-14 this season.

Senior guard Nia Clouden led the way being named first-team All-Big Ten by both coaches and the media. Freshmen Matilda Ekh and DeeDee Hagemann were both named honorable mention All-Big Ten and to the All-Freshman team. Left pretty much on her own with three of her teammates benched due to season-ending injuries, another retiring her green jersey for a maroon one through the transfer portal, and five rookies, senior guard Nia Clouden has had her hands full leading the charge for Michigan State women’s basketball this season. She shares the honor with Nebraska’s Alexis Markowski. The Västerås, Sweden native captured her third Freshman of the Week honor after leading the Spartans to a win road victory over Wisconsin on Feb. 16. Ekh led the Spartans with 25 points against the Badgers.
