Michigan State women’s basketball open’s the 2022-23 season with its only exhibition against Saginaw Valley State on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. For the Spartan Spooktacular, fans will get a chance to see the 2022-23 team in action, while also celebrating the spooky season! Doors open at 1:30 p.m. for pre-game activities on the concourse, which will include pregame trick-or-treating, games and prizes on the concourse.

United Wholesale Mortgage is expanding its name, image, and likeness deal with Michigan State student-athletes to include the women’s basketball and volleyball teams, the company announced Thursday. The company, owned by former MSU walk-on basketball player Mat Ishbia, is offering sponsorships that can provide up to $700 per month for the full year “pending the completion of social media promotional posts assigned by UWM,” to all women’s basketball and volleyball student-athletes, according to a statement Thursday morning from UWM.

Michigan State women’s basketball head coach Suzy Merchant announced the 2022-23 schedule on Wednesday in conjunction with the Big Ten Conference.MSU will play 18 games at the friendly confines of the Breslin Center, beginning with an exhibition against Saginaw Valley State on Sunday, Oct. 30. For the second-straight season, the conference will play an 18-game league schedule. MSU also played an 18-game schedule in both 2018-19 and 2019-20. The Big Ten had 18-game schedules in both 2015-16 and 2014-15.

Michigan State women’s basketball and the Big Ten Conference announced the 2022-23 conference breakdown on Thursday. For the second-straight season, the Big Ten will play an 18-game schedule, after playing a 20-game schedule during the 2020-21 campaign. The conference also played an 18-game league schedule in both 2018-19 and 2019-20. Michigan State will play in-state rival Michigan, along with Maryland, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin in home-and-home contests. At the Breslin Center, MSU will play host to Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota and Rutgers. Spartan Women’s Basketball Adds Kamaria McDaniel To 2022-23 Roster
Michigan State head women’s basketball coach, Suzy Merchant announced the addition of Kamaria McDaniel to the 2022-23 roster. She comes to MSU as a graduate transfer after two seasons at Baylor and two at Penn State. A native Inkster, Michigan, McDaniel missed the complete 2020-21 season due to injury, playing in 10 games at Baylor last season.

Stephen F. Austin guard and Swedish native Stephanie Visscher transfers to MSU
Another Swedish sensation, Stephanie Visscher of Stephen F. Austin State University, will be joining the Michigan State women’s basketball ranks for the 2022-23 season. She joins freshman Swede Matilda Ekh. The Spartan program sent out the announcement via Twitter about the 6-foot-1 graduate guard transfer from Lulea, Sweden, on Tuesday afternoon.
