Nick Ward’s playing time has been a hot topic around Michigan State basketball ever since the beginning of last season. As a freshman, Ward averaged 13.9 points, the second-best on the team. However, he played 19.8 minutes a game, fewer than six other players on the roster. The reason, more often than not, was because of Ward’s struggles covering ball screens and the consistent foul trouble he found himself in.

No. 3/3 Michigan State Visits Rutgers on Tuesday Night
Michigan State’s men’s basketball team plays its first Big Ten Conference road game of the season on Tuesday, Dec. 5, visiting Rutgers. Tipoff at the Louis Brown Athletic Center is slated for 7 p.m. The game will be shown live on the Big Ten Network, with Dave Revsine calling the play-by-play and Jon Crispin serving as the color analyst. Saturday was the perfect way to end the regular season, with a convincing win on the road against an inferior opponent. Finally, MSU blows someone out and looks good doing it. Quite frankly if it wasn’t for all the penalties, the Spartans might have hung 60 on Rutgers.
