Josiah Scott was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fourth round (No. 137 overall) of the 2020 National Football League Draft on Saturday, April 25. Michigan State extended its remarkable streak in the NFL Draft, as at least one Spartan has been chosen since 1941, the third-longest streak in the nation (80 straight). In addition, MSU is one of just four schools to have had at least one player chosen every year since the inception of the common NFL Draft in 1967 (Florida, Michigan, USC).

If the NFL is holding its annual draft, you can bet on a Michigan State player getting selected. Since the start of the common NFL Draft in 1967, at least one player from Michigan State has been drafted every year. That streak isn’t about to end now, as the 2020 NFL Draft is set to begin Thursday and wrap up on Saturday evening. While the draft will look different this year with teams working remotely, the constant of a Spartan hearing his name called will continue.

Outlook for Michigan State players heading into NFL draft
Michigan State doesn’t have any first-round prospects but the program should have numerous draft picks, perhaps starting on the second day. The Spartans had a player picked in the draft each of the last 79 years, which is the third longest streak in the nation, trailing only Michigan and USC at 81 years each.

2020 NFL Draft Profile: Josiah Scott
Scott put together an impressive Relative Athletic Score (RAS), of 8.19 which quantifies player measurements and metrics and puts them on a 0 to 10 scale compared to their position group. That number essentially puts Scott in the 82 percentile range for the cornerback position.

Giants sign Bennie Fowler
The New York Giants signed former Denver Broncos and Michigan State receiver Bennie Fowler and placed linebacker Ray-Ray Armstrong and wide receiver Cody Latimer on injured reserve. The moves were among a number made by the Giants (1-5) on Tuesday as they returned to practice after a long weekend following a Thursday night game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
