Michigan State Wrestling Announces 2017-18 Schedule
Michigan State wrestling head coach Roger Chandler announced the Spartans’ 2017-18 schedule on Friday. “We have a very tough but good schedule,” Chandler said. “We have a young team, but I think it’s important for us to challenge a young team to continue to grow. We’ve got six of the top 10 returning teams from last year NCAA duals rankings. There’s no doubt we’re going to be challenged up and down the line. Part of being a champion is facing that level of competition and growing from it.”

Michigan State Hosting 2018 Big Ten Wrestling Championships
Michigan State will host the 2018 Big Ten Conference Wrestling Championships at the Breslin Student Events Center on Saturday and Sunday, March 3-4. It’s exciting anytime you can host an even of this caliber. Many say it’s tougher than the NCAA Championships in many ways. It’s great to promote and feature our sport on our own campus,” MSU head coach Roger Chandler said. “I think the most exciting thing is that our guys get to be home, compete at home and compete in front of their own fans. In many ways, that gives them extra incentive as they move forward through the year.”

Spartan Wrestling Competing At University Nationals This Weekend
Michigan State wrestling will be represented by 18 wrestlers in action this weekend at the 2017 United World Wrestling University Nationals in Akron, Ohio on Saturday and Sunday, June 3-4. The two-day event will be held at the Louis and Freda Stile Athletic Field House on the University of Akron campus.

Hobart wrestling state champ Brendan Black eschews IU for Michigan State
When Brendan Black was crowned a state champion back in February, the Hobart senior was intending to go to Indiana. Changes on the coaching staff in Bloomington led to a change of plans for Black, who changed his college colors from crimson and cream to green and white, signing recently with Michigan State.
