Swimming & Diving Announces 2017-18 Schedule
Head swimming and diving coach Matt Gianiodis has announced the schedule for the 2017-18 season. “I’m looking forward to another really challenging schedule starting right away with Iowa. We have some great schools to compete with this year and as usual we hope to be at our best in February when the Big Ten Championships roll around,” Gianiodis said.

Payton Woods To Swim In 2017 Phillips 66 National Championships
Michigan State rising sophomore Payton Woods will be competing in the 2017 Phillips 66 National Championships that are taking place June 27-July 1 at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis.

Spartans Earn Academic All-America CSCAA Honors
The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced its 2017 Scholar All-America Team with a record 997 student-athletes. Michigan State’s Madeline Sewell, who had a 3.7 GPA and participated in the NCAA Championships, was a first-team selection. The candidates must have achieved a 3.5 GPA or higher, and must have participated in their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

Swimming & Diving Honors 36 Student-Athletes for Academic All-Big Ten
The Big Ten Conference announced the Academic All-Big Ten honorees for the 2017 winter sports season and in total, 36 student-athletes from the men’s and women’s swimming & diving team were recognized.

Madeline Sewell Set for NCAA Diving Championships
The Michigan State swimming & diving team will be represented by senior Madeline Sewell in the one-meter dive at the 2017 NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championships. The NCAA Championships stretches from March 15-18 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind., and Sewell will compete at approximately 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 16.

Senior Madeline Sewell led Michigan State on the final day of the NCAA Division Zone C Diving Championships on Friday, March 10. Sewell finished fifth overall in the one-meter dive and will now compete in the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships on March 16.

Swim & Dive Celebrate Seniors in Final Home Meet
Michigan State swimming and diving teams dropped its contests to Michigan, Feb. 4. The men fell by a score of 160-90, while the women dropped their meet 173-80. The Spartans raced at home for the final time of the season and the team honored their 11 seniors for their dedication to the program throughout the meet.

Spartans Set for Senior Day Against Michigan
Michigan State swimming and diving will conclude its home and dual meet season hosting Michigan on Saturday, Feb. 4. The diving is slated to begin at 11 a.m. followed by Senior Day activities at 11:45 a.m. and the swimming events will begin at noon.

Michigan State men’s and women’s swim & dive teams were awarded College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American honors after achieving a combined grade point average better than 3.0 in the fall semester.

Swim & Dive Down Golden Grizzlies
Michigan State swimming and diving men and women’s team defeated Oakland University in its dual meet on Saturday, Jan. 21. The women won by a score of 157-143, while the men defeated Oakland 165-133.” Good thing is we won both meets,” said head coach Matt Gianiodis. “The better thing is that we swam really well, we dove really well. We had a lot of really great individual performances which was good. It was nice for our whole team to win a couple meets.”
