Fresh off a pair of mid-week victories over Campbell and UNC Wilmington, Michigan State softball remains on the road this upcoming weekend at the Chanticleer Showdown hosted by Coastal Carolina. Action kicks off on Friday, March 1 when MSU meets Iona at 12:00 p.m. The Spartans are scheduled for five games over the weekend before returning to East Lansing.

A late offensive surge helped Michigan State softball come from behind to defeat UNC Wilmington, 10-6, on Wednesday night at Boseman Field. The Spartans trailed 4-2 early but a six-run seventh inning broke the game open.

On a rainy Friday in Durham, Michigan State softball split day one of the Duke Invitational defeating Elon (4-1) and falling to Boston University (9-1) at the Duke Softball Stadium. MSU moves to 5-7 overall and is 1-1 this weekend with three games remaining.

Michigan State looks to keep its offensive spark alive this weekend when it heads east to play in the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C. The Spartans will play five games over the weekend which includes games against Elon, Boston University (RV), Villanova and No. 6-ranked Duke. Play gets underway for the Spartans at Duke Softball Stadium at 12 p.m. on Friday, February 23 when MSU meets Elon. Michigan State’s weekend concludes on Sunday, February 25 with a 10:30 a.m. game against Elon. All games will have live stats and stream on ACC Network Extra via ESPN+.

For the first time in program history, Michigan State softball has earned two B1G weekly honors in the same week. Sophomore Britain Beshears was named Co-Player of the Week and freshman Jaeya Butler earned Freshman of the Week as announced by the Big Ten Conference office on Monday afternoon.

Michigan State softball’s offense was rolling for the second-straight day on Saturday as the Spartans took down Boise State (8-5) and UT Arlington (9-1) on day two of the Maverick Invitational. MSU is now 4-0 on the weekend and improves to 4-5 overall on the season.

Michigan State softball put a pair of wins in the record book on Friday afternoon at the Maverick Invitational, defeating DePaul (8-0) and Kansas City (13-2). MSU racked up 16 hits in game two against Kansas City, a program-best during the Coach Sho era.

Michigan State softball was narrowly defeated by No. 12/16-ranked Arkansas at the 2024 Paradise Classic on Saturday, falling 6-5 at Joan Joyce Field. The Spartans were also defeated in the team’s second game of the afternoon, a 10-1 loss to Marshall.

Michigan State softball sophomore Faith Guidry spun a two-hit complete game shutout in the circle on Tuesday night as the Spartans defeated intrastate rival Central Michigan by a final score of 3-0 from Secchia Stadium.

Michigan State softball makes its return to Secchia Stadium this week, hosting Central Michigan in its home opener on Tuesday night and Wisconsin for the opening Big Ten series starting on Friday, March 24. The Spartans will play a three-game series against the Badgers.

Michigan State’s offense was rolling on Saturday morning as the Spartans defeated Fordham, 8-2, at Hunt Softball Park to claim victory in game two of the Elon Phoenix Invitational. With a win the Spartans improved to 5-2 on the season and 2-0 on the weekend.

Michigan State softball returned to the diamond on Friday, Feb. 17 with a 7-0 victory over Elon at Hunt Softball Park. MSU used a pair of home runs to its advantage with freshman Mandy Esman and junior AJ Militello each hitting their first of the season over the left field fence.

Michigan State softball got its 2023 season underway on Friday at the Texas A&M Invitational, with the Spartans putting together a pair of winning performances to defeat Texas A&M University-Commerce and Tarleton. MSU needed just five innings to defeat A&M-Commerce in the morning game, 11-0, before walking off against Tarleton in a 5-4 victory later that afternoon.

Michigan State softball is set to open the 2023 season at the Texas A&M Invitational this weekend where they will meet Texas A&M University-Commerce, Tarleton, Northern Kentucky and host school Texas A&M. This marks MSU’s first trip to Texas since the 2018 season when the Spartans played three games at the Reveille Classic, also hosted by Texas A&M.
