Chanticleer Showdown Next Up for Spartan Softball
Fresh off a pair of mid-week victories over Campbell and UNC Wilmington, Michigan State softball remains on the road this upcoming weekend at the Chanticleer Showdown hosted by Coastal Carolina. Action kicks off on Friday, March 1 when MSU meets Iona at 12:00 p.m. The Spartans are scheduled for five games over the weekend before returning to East Lansing.

Spartans Start Spring Break Trip at Duke Invitational
Michigan State looks to keep its offensive spark alive this weekend when it heads east to play in the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C. The Spartans will play five games over the weekend which includes games against Elon, Boston University (RV), Villanova and No. 6-ranked Duke. Play gets underway for the Spartans at Duke Softball Stadium at 12 p.m. on Friday, February 23 when MSU meets Elon. Michigan State’s weekend concludes on Sunday, February 25 with a 10:30 a.m. game against Elon. All games will have live stats and stream on ACC Network Extra via ESPN+.

For the first time in program history, Michigan State softball has earned two B1G weekly honors in the same week. Sophomore Britain Beshears was named Co-Player of the Week and freshman Jaeya Butler earned Freshman of the Week as announced by the Big Ten Conference office on Monday afternoon.

Michigan State softball is set to open the 2023 season at the Texas A&M Invitational this weekend where they will meet Texas A&M University-Commerce, Tarleton, Northern Kentucky and host school Texas A&M. This marks MSU’s first trip to Texas since the 2018 season when the Spartans played three games at the Reveille Classic, also hosted by Texas A&M.
