Sophomore Hannah Hawley has been named Second Team All-B1G as announced by the Big Ten Conference on Wednesday morning. Hawley is the first Spartan to earn All-B1G honors since 2019 (Caitie Ladd, second team).

For the second time this season, senior Liv Grey was named B1G Pitcher of the Week as announced by the Big Ten Conference office on Monday afternoon. Grey is the third Spartan pitcher to ever earn two B1G weekly honors in the same year and is the first since 2003 (Jessica Beech, 2003; Erica Strutz, 1999). It’s Michigan State’s fourth weekly award of the season, tying for the second-most in program history (1999 – Four; 2003 – Five).

Michigan State softball ended its 2024 campaign on a high note Sunday, earning a series sweep over Purdue with a 2-1 victory at Bittinger Stadium. It’s the first B1G series sweep for the Spartans since 2018 (vs. Rutgers, April 27-29, 2018). MSU finishes the season 21-30 (7-16 B1G)

Senior Jenae Wash tallied a career-best three RBI in Michigan State’s 9-4 loss to Rutgers on Saturday afternoon at Secchia Stadium. The St. John’s, Fla. native had previously recorded six two-RBI games in her career.

Sophomore Britain Beshears provided a late spark in Michigan State softball’s 8-6 loss to Illinois on Friday afternoon at Secchia Stadium. Beshears’ fifth inning grand slam brought the Spartans back within one run, 7-6, heading into the late stages of the game.

In the final game of its three-game series at Penn State, the Michigan State softball team came away victorious, 6-2, on Sunday afternoon at Nittany Lion Softball Park and Beard Field. A win improves Michigan State to 15-25 (2-10 B1G) on the season.

Michigan State out-hit Penn State on Saturday afternoon but ultimately fell to the Nittany Lions, 6-3, in game two of the weekend conference series at Nittany Lion Softball Park and Beard Field. MSU recorded eight hits on the day led by a pair from sophomore Hannah Hawley. All nine Spartan starters reached base and seven starters tallied base knocks.

Michigan State softball was defeated by Penn State on Friday afternoon, 10-0, in game one of its three-game B1G series at Nittany Lion Softball Park and Beard Field. MSU moves to 14-24 (1-10 B1G) on the season while Penn State improves to 29-8 (8-2 B1G).

After defeating Western Michigan in a midweek contest on Wednesday, the Michigan State softball program is back on the road for a three-game series against Penn State in State College, Pa. Action kicks off on Friday, April 12, with a 5:00 p.m. first pitch. All games throughout the weekend will be streamed on B1G+.

Junior starting pitcher Madison Taylor allowed just three hits on Wednesday night as Michigan State defeated intrastate rival Western Michigan, 4-3, at Secchia Stadium. Taylor struck out five Broncos in finishing her second complete game of the season.

Sophomore Sydney Doloszycki slugged her second home run of the weekend, but Michigan State fell to Indiana, 7-2, in the series finale at Secchia Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Doloszycki’s homer was Michigan State’s 36th of the year, tying for the eighth-most in program history for a single season. The Spartans have powered 36 balls over the fence in 35 games during the 2024 campaign.

The Spartans tallied three home runs on Saturday afternoon but fell 12-4 to Indiana in game two of Michigan State’s three-game B1G series at Secchia Stadium. MSU has hit 35 home runs during the 2024 campaign, tying for the ninth-most in single-season program history.
