Michigan State men’s soccer has earned the No. 5 seed in the upcoming Big Ten Tournament. MSU will take on No. 4-seeded Washington on Thursday, Nov. 7 in the quarterfinals. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. ET at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois. The game will be streamed on B1G+.The semifinal round will also take place at SeakGeek Stadium on Nov. 10.

Michigan State men’s soccer was nipped by Rutgers, 1-0, on Spartan Senior Celebration Day, presented by HAP, on a Sunday afternoon at DeMartin Stadium. Rutgers scored in the 83rd minute to take the lead, but Michigan State had several late chances including a penalty kick with 43 seconds left that went wide to deny the draw and spoil the Spartans’ Senior Day festivities.

Behind a pair of second-half goals, the Michigan State men’s soccer team battled to a 2-2 draw against No. 1 Ohio State on Tuesday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus. “What a heckuva college soccer game. I have to give our guys a ton of credit,” MSU head coach Damon Rensing said.

Michigan State men’s soccer returns to the road to take on Indiana on Friday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. at Bill Armstrong Stadium. MSU improved to 5-5-2 overall and 4-2-0 in Big Ten action after a 2-0 win then- No. 25 Wisconsin last week. Indiana stands 6-3-5 overall this season and 4-1-2 in league contests. On Tuesday, the Hoosiers defeated No. 18 Michigan, 5-0.

Senior midfielder Sean Kerrigan’s two first-half goals helped the Michigan State men’s soccer team take down No. 25 Wisconsin 2-0 Friday night DeMartin Stadium on Salute to Service Day. The Spartans have now won three of their last four games to even out their record to 5-5-2.

All veterans and first responders will receive complimentary admission with presentation of a valid ID. Michigan State men’s soccer had three players honored with Big Ten weekly awards on Tuesday. Junior midfielder Jonathan Stout was named Offensive Player of the Week, while redshirt-junior Zac Kelly was named Goalkeeper of the Week. Defender Brandon Munson earned Freshman of the Week honors.

In a Labor Day battle, Michigan State men’s soccer was edged by No. 5 Oregon State, 2-1, at a packed DeMartin Stadium on Monday .”To be honest, I just told the guys to keep the faith,” Rensing said. “I mean they played really well today. That’s a team that made the Final Four, and other than the two goals, I am hard pressed to find a really dangerous chance they got. I felt we were all over them, and it was an awesome place at DeMartin. I just want to thank the 2500 or so fans that were out there for a Labor Day game. I think if we just keep the faith, the goals will come.”

Michigan State men’s soccer will play its third-straight home game facing No. 19/5 Oregon State in a Labor Day battle on Monday at 1 p.m. The Spartans improved to 1-1-1 this season after 1-0 win against Villanova on Aug. 30. Michigan State earned it first shutout of the season with redshirt-junior goalkeeper Zac Kelly making three saves.
