Michigan State baseball kicks off its seven games in 10-day Spring Break trip by heading to Greenville, South Carolina for the eighth-annual First Pitch Invitational Friday-Sunday, March 3-5. MSU will open against Furman on Friday, March 3 at 3 p.m. at Fluor Field, home of the Greenville Drive. On Saturday, March 4, the Spartans will take on Presbyterian in a 12 p.m. first pitch at Latham Stadium, home of Furman. Michigan State wraps up the three-game weekend by taking on UT Martin on Sunday, March 5 at 11 a.m. at Fluor Field.

The Spartans came extremely close to getting an NCAA tournament bid for the first time since 2012, they were off to the best start in school history, the Big Ten tournament Championship was in their sights but costly errors threw them off course. During the first game vs Ohio State an unfortunate error on the base-paths occurred which proved to be to much for Michigan State to overcome.
