Adam Nightingale, like the past two Michigan State head coaches, is an alumnus. But he will try to do what they were unable to do, bring Michigan State back to college hockey prominence. Nightingale played for Michigan State for two seasons, after transferring from Lake Superior State. His older brother, Jason, who works for the Buffalo Sabres, played at Lake Superior. His younger brother, Jared, switched his NLI from Lake Superior to Michigan State, so Adam followed him.
