Mel Tucker was a defensive back at Wisconsin. The new Michigan State head coach has more than two decades of coaching experience and it’s firmly rooted on the defensive side of the ball. He won national championships as a defensive backs coach at Ohio State and Alabama and was a defensive coordinator with three different NFL franchises. Tucker’s knowledge of defense is well established. His vision on offense isn’t as clear.
