Bouncing back is critical if Michigan State wants to stay afloat in the national conversation as a top-10 or top-15 team, but it’s also important to start Big Ten play with a 1-0 record. Getting behind early on in conference play is worst-case scenario. Rutgers may not have been a preseason pick to contend in the conference, but the Scarlet Knights picked up a huge win over Miami in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge and have been playing stingy defense.
