Tim Hall runs over the numbers in his head and they’re difficult to grasp. The founder and director of the Garfield Park Gators youth football program on the west side of Chicago has had 12 athletes go on to play at four-year colleges in his 15 years as coach. Another eight of his former players have been killed. Raequan Williams, one of those 12 who made it to college, lives at the crossroads of that disturbing ratio.
