A.J. Achter’s arrival to Michigan State University came at just the right time. He’s hoping the same applies for him with the Detroit Tigers. Achter, a 6-foot-5 right-handed pitcher who has spent a lot of time watching Tigers prospects with the Toledo Mud Hens in his hometown, played for a resurgent MSU baseball program during a golden era of Spartans athletics.
