The junior college transfer you should actually know, and other possibilities for Michigan State at offensive tackle
Anthony McKinney is a monstrous offensive tackle for Iowa Western. The Rockford, Ill., native is listed at 6-foot-8 and 291 pounds on the Reivers’ website. On Sunday, McKinney announced an offer from Michigan State. He has also listed offers from Houston, Illinois, Iowa State, Louisville, Maryland, Oregon, Syracuse and TCU.

Michigan State recruiting notebook: The latest in Spartans recruiting
When it comes to in-state recruiting, Michigan State puts a premium on relationships. In Mark Dantonio’s tenure, the Spartans have tried to cast their web across the state, getting close with high school coaches and getting to know players well before extending offers. The hope seems to be that those relationships will win out against other schools that show late interest. That’s continued to be the strategy in the early days of 2017, as well.

Trieu: MSU begins chase for top 2018 talent
Michigan State just completed its 2017 recruiting class a week ago, but the Spartans are already off to a fast start in the 2018 class with three commitments. Those three commits — cornerback Xavier Henderson, tight end Trenton Gillison and wide receiver Joseph Scates — are all from Ohio and all four-star prospects. There are also a number of other targets the staff is working hard on.
