MSU’s offensive line is mostly young and relatively unproven. But there is enough talent and experience to give the Spartans hope. The Michigan State offensive lineman attached a photo of himself as a chubby, young teenager. He was standing with oldest brother, Jack, when he was about the same age at Spartan Stadium. Now, it’s Matt’s turn to put on the uniform and play alongside middle brother, senior Brian, on that same field.

Michigan State has faith in young players on rebuilt offensive line
One of Mark Dantonio’s surprise announcements following the Michigan State spring game last month was that offensive lineman Luke Campbell had “solidified” himself at right tackle. Campbell redshirted in 2016, his first season on campus, but impressed coaches enough during the practices that season and the offseason to earn himself the starting job by the end of spring practice.

Michigan State had nine true freshmen see the field last year, a record during the Mark Dantonio era. With that, the Spartans have a number young players entering 2016 with some game experience. For others, they had to wait. The Spartans brought in 20 scholarship players in the 2016 class, meaning 11 of them didn’t play in a game last season.
