Brooks, who Izzo has been recruiting since he was a fresh high school prospect, just gave the Spartans a key advantage in his recruitment, revealed on Tuesday evening. According to Brian Snow of 247Sports, Brooks will be making his last official visit to Michigan State in mid-November.

Michigan State had two primary class of 2019 targets visit for its Michigan State Madness event nearly two weeks ago. Now, both are moving toward a decision with Michigan State still in the mix. Five-star forward Trayce Jackson-Davis and four-star forward Malik Hall both named Michigan State among their three finalist schools in the last week.

Keion Brooks sat on the bench in street clothes here at MSA Woodland Fieldhouse on Friday morning, a case of tendonitis preventing him from taking the floor as his teammates played in the Brawl for the Ball tournament. But the fact that Brooks stayed on the bench didn’t stop Michigan State coach Tom Izzo, who watched the action from a few feet behind the baseline, from providing feedback on Brooks’ performance.

On Wednesday, we told you about ESPN’s updated 2018 basketball recruiting rankings. All four Michigan State commits received 4-star ratings, and three ranked in the top 100. Both numbers are higher than the 247Sports composite, which combines the ratings and rankings of multiple media recruiting services. A day later, ESPN unveiled its traditional ranking of the top 60 incoming junior players, which would be the 2019 class. Michigan State has offered four players in the class, and all appeared on the list.
