Even though his players took to Twitter to express their frustrations that they’re going to California. “Hey, life’s about how you handle disappointments,” Dantonio said Sunday at Breslin Center. “And I would not say going to the Holiday Bowl is a big disappointment.”

No. 16 Michigan State To Play No. 18 Washington State in Holiday Bowl
Michigan State, which finished No. 16 in the final College Football Playoff rankings, has accepted an invitation to play in the 40th annual San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl against No. 18 Washington State on Thursday, Dec. 28 at 9 p.m. EST in SDCCU Stadium in San Diego, California. This marks the first-ever appearance for the Spartans in the Holiday Bowl. The game will be televised nationally on FS1.

MSU to face Washington State in Holiday Bowl
Buy your tickets and pack your bags because MSU is headed to San Diego for the Holiday Bowl. After posting a 9-3 record in the regular season, the Spartans will take on Washington State in the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 28. It is the first bowl game for MSU since 2015, when the Spartans were shutout 38-0 to Alabama in the Cotton Bowl.
