Less than a month after winning his fourth NBA title, former Michigan State star and Saginaw native Draymond Green is adding another accolade to his resume: Michigan State Hall of Famer. Green has been elected as a member of the school’s 2022 Hall of Fame class, he announced on Thursday on his podcast.

Green said on his podcast this week that if his Spartans beat Davidson, where Curry played college basketball, the former NBA MVP will be forced to wear the full mascot costume of Sparty to an upcoming Golden State Warriors game.

Draymond Green has signed a multi-year deal with Turner Sports to become a regular contributor for “Inside the NBA,” the popular studio show that anchor’s the network’s NBA coverage. Green, a three-time NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors, Saginaw native and former Michigan State basketball star, will join Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley as his schedule allows during Thursday nights and throughout the playoffs.

Fun fact: Draymond Green played 22 percent of his rookie minutes at shooting guard, according to Basketball-Reference. This is preposterous for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that he is best known as a revolutionary center, yet by their estimates, the highest proportion of his minutes he’s ever spent as a five is only 21 percent. Green is only 6-6. At the time, the notion of using a player of Kobe Bryant’s height at Shaquille O’Neal’s position was simply unheard of.
