former Michigan State men’s soccer player DeJuan Jones has been called to the United States Men’s National Team for its January Preparation Camp in Phoenix, Arizona. Jones, who currently plays for the New England Revolution, will train with the United States as part of the two-week camp. Head Coach Gregg Berhalter will select the final roster for three World Cup Qualifiers, which begin on Jan. 27. Jones is one of three Revolution teammates to earn the call.

Michigan State Athletics and PNC Bank are partnering to recognize the PNC Achievers Student-Athletes of the Month. Throughout the 2018-19 season, deserving Spartan student-athletes will be recognized for displaying well-rounded achievement through leadership in the classroom, in the community, and in competition. The honorees for October are DeJuan Jones (men’s soccer), Erin Neely (women’s swimming & diving) and Molly Hoerner-O’Malley (gymnastics).

DeJuan Jones Named a Candidate Announced for the 2018 Senior CLASS Award
Senior forward DeJuan Jones was named one of 60 men’s soccer players named as a candidate for the 2018 Senior CLASS Award® in collegiate soccer. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

DeJuan Jones Named Big Ten Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Jones, a senior forward from Lansing, Michigan, earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors after a nine-point performance. He scored two goals in a win against Bowling Green on Sept. 7 and managed to top that with two goals and an assist in a victory over Oakland on Sept. 10. This is the third award for Jones who also was last honored by the league on Sept. 12, 2017. The senior scored twice in the second half to lead the Spartans to a 2-1 win. He currently leads the team in scoring with five goals

Four Spartan Men’s Soccer Players Earn United Soccer Coaches All-Region Accolades
Four Michigan State men’s soccer players earned United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men’s All-Midwest Region Team honors as announced by the United Soccer Coaches. Senior defender Jimmy Fiscus, senior midfielder Ken Krolicki and redshirt junior goalkeeper Jimmy Hague were on the first-team list, while junior forward DeJuan Jones was on the third-team list.

Meet DeJuan Jones, who played his prep games at East Lansing High School, and now plays his college games 1.2 miles away — a quick trip down Burcham, over to Abbot, across Grand River and onto campus, where at 6 Saturday night, the stands at DeMartin Soccer Complex are going to be filled with a whole lot of familiar faces as Michigan State hosts Western Michigan in the NCAA Tournament.

Michigan State junior DeJuan Jones was honored on Tuesday as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week. Jones, a junior forward from Lansing, Michigan, earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring two goals in MSU’s win against Rutgers in its Big Ten opener on September 8. This is the second award for Jones who also was honored by the league on Oct. 11, 2016. Jones scored twice in the second half to lead the Spartans to a 2-1 win. He currently leads the team in scoring with three goals and one assist for seven points.
