The Golf Coaches Association of America announced finalists for the 2021 Byron Nelson Award presented by Srixon/Cleveland Golf, in cooperation with the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, on Thursday, April 29. Michigan State’s Andrew Walker is one of four finalists for this year’s award, joining Colin Kober of Baylor, McClure Meissner of Southern Methodist, and Davis Thompson of Georgia.

Andrew Walker Looking to the Future
From the U.S. Amateur to state championships to injury-filled seasons, Michigan State men’s golf senior Andrew Walker has a career full of highs and lows, and remains eager for what the future holds. Walker had a putter put in his hand at the age of three. He would tag along with his father and brother in the spring and summer to sharpen his golf skills. They played multiple rounds of golf a day, and Walker was striving to beat his dad from an early age.

Piot, Taylor and Walker Named to B1G Golfers to Watch List
Michigan State’s James Piot, Troy Taylor II and Andrew Walker were all named to the 2019-20 Big Ten Men’s Golfers to Watch List, announced by the conference office on Wednesday. In all, 42 golfers – three from each school – were named to the list.

Kaleb Johnson, Michael Sharp and Andrew Walker have all been named to the Big Ten Men’s Golfers to Watch List, it was announced by the conference on Wednesday (Aug. 30).

Andrew Walker wins Cal-Am Golf Tournament
Walker, a 2016 Lakeview High graduate and a current golfer at Michigan State University, shot a 74 in his final round to win the tournament by one stroke, edging out former Lakeview golf standout Jared Multer, who was runner-up. Multer just finished up his collegiate career at Eastern Michigan University. Kory Roberts, another Lakeview grad in the final playing group, shot a 76 and finished fourth. Casey Bess had the best round of Day 2 with a 73 and climbed to take third overall.
