After outscoring Northwestern, 50-22, in the first half, the Michigan State women’s basketball team rolled to a convincing, 81-51, win Wednesday at the Breslin Center.

Michigan State opens the 2018 portion of the schedule, concluding a two-game homestand against Northwestern on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Breslin Center. The Spartans are 11-4 and 1-1 in the Big Ten this season.

Despite redshirt-senior guard Branndais Agee’s first double-double of the season, Michigan State women’s basketball had its six-game winning streak halted by Rutgers, 61-58, Sunday at the Breslin Center.

Michigan State women’s basketball captured its Big Ten opener with a convincing, 68-46, win over Indiana in Bloomington on Thursday. MSU improves to 18-18 in B1G openers. The Spartans have now won a season-high six-straight games, improving to 11-3 overall and 1-0 in league action. Indiana falls to 7-7 overall and 0-1 in Big Ten play. This was the Spartans first win in Bloomington since 2013.

Michigan State will open Big Ten action on Thursday, Dec. 28 at Indiana at 7 p.m. at Assembly Hall. The Spartans start conference action after going 10-3 in non-conference action. MSU is one of seven B1G teams to reach double-digit wins in non-conference play. Indiana is currently 7-6, heading into the Big Ten opener.

Michigan State women’s basketball concluded the New Orleans Shootout with an 83-64 win over Mississippi Valley State to go 2-0 at the tournament held at Xavier University. With the win, the Spartans conclude non-conference action with a 10-3 record. The Devilettes fall to 0-11 this season. MSU was the only team at the tournament to finish undefeated, going 2-0. Both No. 22 South Florida and Dayton went 1-1, while MVSU was 0-2.

Michigan State will conclude the non-conference season at the New Orleans Shootout against No. 22/19 South Florida and Mississippi Valley State, Dec. 21-22. This is the second New Orleans Shootout with the inaugural tournament taking place in 2014. The Spartans have won three-straight games with home wins against Rhode Island and Quinnipiac and an overtime road victory over East Tennessee State.

Michigan State returns to the Breslin Center for its final home non-conference game of the season, taking on Quinnipiac on Monday, Dec. 18 at 9 p.m. The game is the second half of a doubleheader with the Spartans men’s basketball team.

Michigan State women’s basketball outscored East Tennessee State, 17-8, in overtime to grind out an 83-74 road win over the Buccaneers Saturday night in Johnson City, Tenn. The Spartans used a school record 15 blocks to help seal the hard-fought road win. MSU’s previous school record was 13 blocks against Indiana on Dec. 28, 2006. Michigan State has now won two-straight games, improving to 7-3, while ETSU falls to 6-7 this season.

After taking a break for finals, the Spartans hit the road, taking on East Tennessee State on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. Michigan State has won two of its last three games, including a dominating win over Rhode Island, 82-38, on Dec. 9.

Before Michigan State women’s basketball takes a break for finals, the Spartans will return home to the Breslin Center to take on Rhode Island on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. on BTN Plus. This is the third of five doubleheaders with the MSU men’s team, who will take on Southern Utah at 6 p.m. The Spartans are 5-3 with losses to No. 1 UConn and No. 2 Notre Dame this season.

Facing its second top-three ranked team of the season, the Michigan State women’s basketball team fell to No. 3/2 Notre Dame, 90-69 at the Joyce Center Wednesday in South Bend.

For the third time in four seasons, Michigan State women’s basketball will take on Notre Dame. This season, MSU will travel to South Bend to take on No. 3/2 Notre Dame at the Joyce Center on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on the ACC Network Extra. The Fighting Irish captured meetings in East Lansing in both 2014 and 2016. Senior forward Taya Reimer will be taking on her former squad for the second-straight season.
