Clouden and McCutcheon Earn All-Big Ten Honors
Michigan State women’s basketball had two players named to the All-Big Ten teams Monday, as voted on by both the 14 league coaches and the media, and announced by the conference office. Sophomore guard Nia Clouden and senior guard Taryn McCutcheon were both named second-team All-Big Ten by the B1G coaches. Clouden was named second-team by the media, while McCutcheon grabbed honorable mention honors.

Michigan State Opens Big Ten Tournament Against Purdue on Thursday
Michigan State women’s basketball will be the No. 8 seed in the upcoming Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament, which will be held Wednesday-Sunday, March 4-8 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The No. 8-seeded Spartans (16-13, 9-9 B1G) will face No. 9-seeded Purdue in the second round on Thursday, March 5 at 12 p.m. ET.

Michigan State women’s basketball erased an 18-point second-half deficit but were unable to hold on, falling to Michigan 65-57 in the annual Pink Game Sunday. A season-high 11,462 fans were on hand at the Breslin Center.

Spartans look to win fourth straight, welcome in arch-rival Wolverines
As the calendar turns toward March, the Michigan State Spartans have kicked it into high gear by rattling off three consecutive wins. The Spartans were able to go into West Lafayette on Thursday and emerge with a gutsy 65-63 win over Purdue. MSU will be looking to improve its winning streak to four on Sunday when the Spartans welcome arch-rival Michigan to the Breslin Center.

Clouden’s late bucket propels Spartans past Purdue
Michigan State was on the ropes. At 13-12, the team was ninth in the Big Ten and needed a spark after injuries decimated its offensive production. Wins against Minnesota and Rutgers provided the spark, but they were low-scoring defensive affairs. The Spartans needed offensive production, and they found it. Taryn McCutcheon and Nia Clouden each scored 14 points, while Kayla Belles added 13 in a 65-63 win over Purdue.

Taryn McCutcheon bounces back after being bullied in high school
This kid in Parkersburg, W.Va., was going places — that was clear. But she was enduring a private hell, the target of bullying that carved away at her confidence and stripped her zest for life. McCutcheon became weary of being made fun of and dealing with rumors about her. She questioned herself and felt dehumanized. What had she done to deserve this, she wondered.
