Michigan State women’s basketball now begins an arduous stretch of four games away from East Lansing, beginning with the Cherokee Invitational at Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee, North Carolina. MSU opens the invitational against Richmond on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 9:30 p.m. The Spartans will then take on either Coastal Carolina or Chattanooga on Thursday, Dec. 22.

Michigan State head women’s basketball coach Robyn Fralick earned her 200th career win, as the high-flying Spartan offense handled Central Michigan, 91-67, at a festive Breslin Center on Sunday afternoon.

Michigan State women’s basketball concludes a three-homestand against in-state foe Central Michigan on Sunday, Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. The Spartans are currently 7-2 this season, looking to rebound from a loss to Nebraska on Dec. 9. The Chippewas are 1-6 this season under first-year head coach Kristin Haynie. Jack Stager and Lexi Alston will be on the call for the Big Ten Plus.

Trailing by 17 with under three minutes to go, the Michigan State women’s basketball teams’ frantic comeback fell just short, falling in their Big Ten opener to Nebraska 80-74 at the Breslin Center on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans had their two-game winning streak halted and fall to 7-2 and 0-1 in Big Ten play. The Cornhuskers improve to 8-2 over all and 1-0 in league contests.

The Michigan State women’s basketball team has gotten off to an impressive start so far in the 2023-2024 season. So far, the Spartans are 7-1 through eight games and they remain undefeated at home. Before the start of the season, head coach Robyn Fralick made it clear that just because there were new faces to the team—including herself—did not mean the team wasn’t going to hit the ground running.

Michigan State women’s basketball will open Big Ten action on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m. against Nebraska. The Spartans and the Huskers are off to a fast start this season. MSU is 7-1 after an 89-44 win over Miami (OH). Nebraska is 7-2 with a victory on Dec. 5 against UNC Wilmington, 108-35. Michigan State women’s basketball held Miami (Ohio) to single digits in three of the four quarters en route to an 89-44 win over the RedHawks Sunday at the Breslin Center. The Spartans improve to 7-1, including winning all five games at the Breslin Center so far this season, while Miami falls to 1-4 this year.MSU’s defense was solid forcing a season-high 29 turnovers, while adding 16 steals. The Spartans scored 30 points off of turnovers in the game.

Michigan State women’s basketball will finally return to the friendly confines of the Breslin Center to take on Miami (Ohio) on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. The Spartans rebounded after their first loss of the season with a 102-64 win over DePaul on the road and currently stand 6-1. Miami is 1-3 this season after a win against Xavier on Nov. 27. Jack Stager and Derrick Mitchell will be on the call for Big Ten Plus.

Michigan State women’s basketball will hit the road for its first true road game, traveling to DePaul on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. ET. The Spartans suffered their first loss of the season in the final game of the Cancun Challenge and currently stand 5-1 this season. DePaul defeated Loyola on Sunday and hold a 4-3 record. Michigan State women’s basketball hits the road for the first time this season, heading to the Cancun Challenge. The Spartans will take on James Madison in a Thanksgiving Day showdown at 6:30 p.m. In the second game of the challenge, MSU will face Creighton at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24. A record setting night from the field helped the Michigan State women’s basketball team dominate Detroit Mercy 105-44 Thursday night at the Breslin Center. Shooting 70.9 percent from the field (39-for-55), the Spartans broke the school record for field goal percentage in a game set in 1986 against Bowling Green.

With the win, the Spartans improve 2-0 this season, while Wright State falls to 0-2. This is the eighth-straight year that Michigan State has started the season 2-0.

Michigan State women’s basketball head coach Robyn Fralick announced the signing of three National Letters of Intent on Wednesday, including Sinai Douglas (Toledo, Ohio/Toledo Start High School), Helen Holley (Cleveland, Ohio/Gilmour Academy), and Juliann Woodard (North Vernon, Indiana/Jennings County High School). “We are so excited to sign Sinai, Helen and Juliann to our Spartan program,” Fralick said. “They embody the core values of our program, are great teammates and winners. They believe in the vision of our program and the day in and day out commitment it takes to play at the highest level. We are thrilled to welcome them to Michigan State women’s basketball.”

Junior guard DeeDee Hagemann helped open the Robyn Fralick era with a bang, leading the Michigan State women’s basketball team to an 87-62 win over Oakland in the season opener Wednesday at the Breslin Center. Fralick becomes the fourth Spartan women’s basketball head coach to win their opening game as MSU head coach, joining Dominic Marino in 1975-76, who also won his opener over Oakland; Joanne P. McCallie in 2000-01, and Suzy Merchant in 2007.
