Michigan State volleyball honored its senior class on Wednesday night in a 3-1 (25-16, 25-22, 29-31, 25-12) victory over Northwestern at the Breslin Student Events Center. Senior libero Nalani Iosia posted 20 digs to surpass the 2,000 career dig mark, becoming just the second player in program history to reach 2,000 digs for their career (Kori Moster, 2,218).

Michigan State volleyball will celebrate its senior class on Wednesday night following the conclusion of its 6:00 PM match against Northwestern. The Spartans are back in action later in the week for a 9:00 PM ET match at No. 7-ranked Wisconsin on Saturday, November 30. Wednesday’s match will be streamed live on B1G+ while Saturday’s will be televised nationally on Big Ten Network.

Michigan State volleyball senior libero Nalani Iosia was drafted by the Orlando Valkyries with the seventh pick of the fifth round (39th overall) in Monday’s 2024 Pro Volleyball Federation draft. Iosia becomes the first Spartan selected in the PVF draft and the third Spartan in three years to move into the professional ranks under head coach Leah Johnson joining Zoe Nunez and Amani McArthur.

Behind a .320 team hitting performance, Michigan State volleyball swept Maryland, 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-18) on Saturday afternoon inside the Breslin Student Events Center.

In a match that featured multiple lead changes in every set, Michigan State volleyball was defeated by No. 13-ranked Oregon, 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-18) on Thursday night at the Breslin Student Events Center.

Michigan State volleyball is back at home this weekend for a pair of B1G matches, taking on No. 13-ranked Oregon on Thursday, November 21 at 6 PM, and Maryland on Saturday, November 23 at 1 PM.Both matches will be streamed live on B1G+. For the second time this season, and the third time in her career, fifth year libero Nalani Iosia has been named B1G Defensive Player of the Week. Iosia is the first player in program history to earn three B1G Defensive Player of the Week awards since it originated in 2005. Iosia led the Spartans to a 2-0 week which included wins over archrival Michigan (3-1) and Iowa (3-0).

After a tight first set, Michigan State volleyball dominated sets two and three in a 3-0 (27-25, 25-13, 25-14) sweep over Iowa on Sunday afternoon at Xtream Arena.

Michigan State volleyball came away victorious in the third annual Battle at Breslin on Friday night, defeating arch-rival Michigan, 3-1 (20-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-18), at the Breslin Student Events Center.

It’s a split weekend for Michigan State volleyball who is set to host the annual Battle at Breslin against Michigan on Friday, November 15 at 6 PM before hitting the road to face Iowa at 3 PM ET on Sunday, November 17. Both matches will be streamed live on B1G+.

Spartan volleyball dominated late using 11 aces to take down Rutgers, 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-23, 25-9) on Friday night at Jersey Mike’s Arena. Michigan State held Rutgers to just nine points in set four, the lowest scoring output of an MSU opponent this season.

Junior outside hitter Taylor Preston posted her first double-double of the season on Thursday night in Michigan State volleyball’s 3-1 (25-17, 19-25, 25-18, 25-22) loss to Maryland at the Xfinity Center Pavilion. Preston led the Spartans with 12 kills on Thursday, adding 10 digs for her first double-double at MSU.

Senior libero Nalani Iosia posted a B1G best 34 digs on Sunday afternoon in Michigan State’s 3-1 (23-25, 26-24, 25-22, 25-18) loss to Ohio State at the Breslin Student Events Center. Iosia’s 34 digs are the third-most all-time for a single match at Michigan State. Her 34 digs are tied for the 12th-most nationally in a four set match this season. It’s the most in a four set match in program history, topping Jane Zenner’s 32, also against Ohio State on September 17, 1983.

Fifth-year libero Nalani Iosia saved her best for last, averaging a career-high 4.26 digs per set. Her previous career-high was 4.16 set in 2023. If the season ended today, Iosia’s 4.26 digs/set would rank No. 8 in the program history book for a single season.

Michigan State volleyball senior setter Julia Bishop has been named one of 18 recipients of the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s (AVCA) Coaches 4 Coaches scholarship. Bishop is the only active undergraduate student-athlete to earn the scholarship, joined by 17 current graduate student or full-time assistant coaches.

Michigan State volleyball concluded its West Coast trip on Saturday night falling to UCLA, 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-22) at Pauley Pavilion. Junior outside hitter Akasha Anderson continued a strong stretch of play leading the Spartans with 12 kills on .290 hitting and three blocks.

In a match that ended after 1:40 a.m. ET, the Michigan State volleyball program came back from a 2-0 deficit to upset No. 16-ranked USC on Thursday night, 3-2 (20-25, 22-25, 27-25, 25-20, 15-13) at the Galen Center.

Michigan State volleyball hits the road this week heading West for the first time in the new-look B1G to face No. 16-ranked USC and receiving votes UCLA. Action gets underway on Thursday, Oct. 24 when MSU takes on USC on Big Ten Network at 11:00 p.m. ET/8:00 p.m. PT. The Spartans are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 26 taking on UCLA at 7:00 p.m. ET/4:00 p.m. PT. Thursday night’s match will be televise nationally on Big Ten Network while Saturday’s meeting will stream on B1G+.

Michigan State volleyball kicked off a jam-packed Homecoming Weekend on Friday night falling to No. 2-ranked Nebraska, 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-15), inside the Breslin Student Events Center. Over 8,200 fans were in attendance marking the second-highest attendance figure in program history.

Michigan State is back at home this weekend and continues to run through the B1G gauntlet hosting No. 2-ranked Nebraska and (RV) Washington in the Breslin Students Events Center this upcoming weekend. Nebraska comes to town for a 6 p.m. match on Friday, October 18 before MSU welcomes Washington for a 1 p.m. match on Sunday, Oct. 20.
