A new era of Michigan State volleyball gets underway on Tuesday night as the Spartans host the annual Green & White scrimmage at 6:30 p.m. in the Breslin Students Events Center. Admission is free to fans, with complimentary parking available in Breslin lots 63 and 126. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m.

Volleyball Earns USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award
The United State Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced today that Michigan State University is among the collegiate and high school teams that have earned the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2021-2022 season. First awarded following the 1992-93 academic year, the award honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Volleyball Announces Move to Breslin Center, Season Tickets
For the first time in over a decade, Michigan State volleyball is set to play home matches in the Breslin Center during the 2022 season MSU head coach Leah Johnson announced Wednesday. The Spartans are tentatively scheduled to play all home matches in Breslin starting with the Auto Owners Insurance Spartan Invitational on Friday and Saturday, August 26-27.

Big Ten Announces 2022 Volleyball Schedule
The Big Ten Conference has announced the 2022 fall volleyball schedule, featuring a 20-game slate that includes 10 home and 10 road matches. Michigan State will play 10 games against teams that finished the 2021 season ranked inside the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25.

Setter Rachel Muisenga Transfers to Michigan State
Michigan State head volleyball coach Leah Johnson announced the addition of setter Rachel Muisenga on Wednesday. Muisenga joins the Spartans from Penn State as a redshirt freshman with four more years of eligibility. “Rachel is a player I’ve known for a long while, and plain and simple – she’s a winner,” Johnson said. “She’s won at every stop of her career. Rachel has elite physicality and a high contact point to go along with a hunger to constantly improve.”

Volleyball Announces Fall Non-Conference Schedule
Michigan State volleyball’s 2022 non-conference schedule was announced by first year head coach Leah Johnson on Friday. The Spartans will play 11 out-of-conference opponents over the first four weekends of the season, highlighted by matches against a pair of NCAA tournament teams, two teams selected to play in the National Invitational Volleyball Championship, and a conference champion. Several other teams on the schedule finished among the top performers in their respective conferences last season.

USA Volleyball’s Open Program took a one-year hiatus in 2021 but returns in 2022.

Spartans fall at No. 5 Wisconsin
Michigan State fell at No. 5 Wisconsin on Friday night, 3-1 (15-25, 25-17, 36-34, 17-25). It was the first match for the Spartans in a split week, continuing this Sunday with a hosting of Michigan for the annual Jam Jenison game. MSU moves to 11-15 overall and 4-13 in the Big Ten, while Wisconsin holds a 22-3 record, 14-3 in league play.
