Michigan State junior men’s golfer Ashton McCulloch set a program record for low 18 hole score with a 10-under par 62 and the Spartans are in third place among 14 teams after the first day of play at the Johnnie-O at Sea Island, being hosted by Rutgers at the Sea Island, Plantation Course in St. Simons Island, Ga.

Michigan State’s men’s golf team begins tournament play for the spring on Monday, Feb. 26, starting play in the inaugural Invitational at the Ford, hosted by Georgia Southern at the Ford Field & River Club in Richmond Hill, Ga. Michigan State tees off at 9:05 am. on the first hole, playing alongside Wake Forest and Michigan.

Michigan State’s men’s golf team fired a 5-under par 279 in the second round of the Folds of Honor Collegiate and moved from a tie to 10th place into the tournament lead after two rounds at American Dunes Golf Club Tuesday afternoon.

Michigan State men’s golfers Drew Hackett, Ashton McCulloch and August Meekhof were named to the Big Ten Players to Watch List, announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Michigan State men’s golfer Ashton McCulloch had been through this before. In the third round of the 118th Canadian Amateur on Wednesday, the Spartans’ rising junior used the back nine at The Pulpit Club in Caledon, Ontario, Canada to firmly stand atop the leaderboard heading into the final round.

Michigan State junior women’s golf Leila Raines fired a 7-under par 65 in the final round and finished as the runner-up individually, while the Spartans finished with the second-best team round in program history to finish in fifth place among 17 teams at the Moon Golf Invitational, which was played at Suntree Country Club in Melbourne, Fla.

Michigan State’s men’s golf team is back in action on Monday, Sept. 26, serving as a host of the Folds of Honor Collegiate at American Dunes Golf Course in Grand Haven, Mich.The three-day, 54-hole course runs through Wednesday, Sept. 28. The 18-team field will play 18 holes each day.

Two Michigan State women’s golfers finished among the top-20 individuals as the Spartans fired a 5-under par 279 in the final round and finished in fifth place among 14 teams at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Classic, hosted by the University of Tennessee at Cherokee Country Club in West Knoxville.

The season-opening Cougar Classic resulted in a tie for fifth place among 18 teams for the Michigan State women’s golf team. The two-day, 54-hole event was held at Yeamans Hall in Charleston, S.C. The Spartans shot a 4-over par 288 in Tuesday’s final round and tied for fifth place with Miami at even-par 852.

Michigan State’s men’s golf team shot an even-par 280 in the final round of play and finished tied for eighth place among 15 teams at the Fighting Irish Classic, hosted by Notre Dame at the Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind.

The 2022 Meijer LPGA Classic will take place from June 16-19 at Blythefield Country Club in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The official tour event will feature 144 of the world’s best players competing over four days. Current MSU golfer Valery Plata and former Spartan Liz Nagel will tee off in the same group on Thursday morning at 9:16 a.m. The same group will start on Friday at 2:16 p.m.

Michigan State’s men’s golf team made a run to pull within five strokes of the final qualifying spot in the final spot, but fell short and finished in eighth place among 13 teams at the NCAA Bryan Regional at the Traditions Clubs in Texas.
