There was little for Brian Lewerke to do Saturday. Other than get wet. Michigan State’s run game was humming along just fine without their leading rusher, who happened to be Lewerke going into the 30-27 win over Minnesota. Because of the Spartans’ emphasis on pounding the ground with their running backs, that also left few opportunities for the quarterback to throw the ball. And for the second straight week, the weather didn’t help, either.
