On the surface, the numbers looked impressive. In just his fifth college start, Michigan State quarterback Brian Lewerke posted career-highs with 31 completions for 340 yards, to go with two touchdowns, and had nine carries for 56 yards. However, the negatives stood out just as much in Michigan State’s 38-18 loss to Notre Dame at Spartan Stadium on Saturday night.
