After an uncharacteristically soft start on the glass, MSU suddenly regained its identity and took control on the boards, which created some long-awaited distance for the Spartans in what became a 114-97 victory. MSU closes out the non-conference portion of its schedule at 12-1 overall. The defending Big Ten champions, already 2-0 in league play, dive back into their final 18 conference games in the new year, starting with a Jan. 2 trip to Nebraska.
