Michigan State rose to No. 1 in the USCHO.com poll and No. 1 in the USA Hockey poll this week, up from #3/4 in the polls last week. Last season the Spartans spent nine weeks as the consensus top team in the country, never falling below No. 4 until the final poll of the season.
