Michigan State continued to rebuild its linebacker room through the transfer portal, picking up a commitment from former NC State starting linebacker Kenny Soares Jr. Soares, who started for the Wolfpack during the 2025 season, finished the year with 80 tackles, four tackles for loss, half a sack, two passes defended and a fumble recovery. He quickly became a steady presence in the middle of NC State’s defense after arriving from Northwestern.
