A pair of offseason transfers – Joshua Eaton and Malcolm Bell – started and played the majority of snaps for the Spartans in a 23-6 win against Western Michigan. “They definitely earned those spots in training camp,” coach Jonathan Smith said, “and both of them are a little bit older, for game ones, have college experience.”
