It took a bit, but Jonathan Smith completed his first stint as Michigan State’s new coach. Smith, who spent the last six seasons at Oregon State, brought six assistants with him from his alma mater to East Lansing after being hired on Nov. 25. He vowed to be thorough in finalizing his group of 10 on-field assistants and lived up to that statement by not completing it until last week.
