Michigan State got standout goaltending from Drew DeRidder on Saturday night at Notre Dame. And outstanding penalty killing, especially in the third period and overtime. But DeRidder’s 47 saves and the penalty killers skating off 8 minutes and 46 seconds of penalties weren’t enough to give the Spartans a victory over the Irish at Compton Family Arena. But the combination also prevented MSU from skating off with a frustrating loss.
