So we’re going to get a Big Ten football season this fall after all, it appears, with Mel Tucker’s debut as Michigan State’s head coach now slated for Oct. 23 and 24, the Big Ten announced Wednesday morning. That’ll begin an eight-game, campus-sites, conference-only schedule for the Spartans and the rest of the league, with a guaranteed ninth game on Dec. 19 based on order of finish — the Big Ten championship game between the two division champions, the two second-place teams against each other and so on and so forth.
