Nothing about Tucker taking over for Dantonio, who retired Feb. 4, has been normal. And nothing has been easy so far in replacing the Spartans’ all-time winningest coach. He hurriedly assembled a staff in late February and early March, getting some glimpses of his new players during offseason conditioning before the Big Ten suspended team activities March 13. That has limited Tucker’s ability to work with his players physically.
