In his 38th and final start for Michigan State, Brian Lewerke turned in one of the best performances of his career. He threw for 320 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 54 yards and a score while being named the Pinstripe Bowl MVP in a win against Wake Forest in New York to close last season. With that performance, Lewerke set a program record for career yards of total offense with 9,548, passing former standout quarterback Connor Cook. He also finished just two completions shy of Kirk Cousins’ program record with 723 career completions.
