It was a quick introduction, but new Michigan State football coach Mel Tucker walked out to a standing ovation Saturday night at Breslin Center during the Spartans’ basketball game with Maryland. Tucker, who was hired Wednesday to replace Mark Dantonio, took the microphone during the first media timeout and delivered promises to the fans and as they cheered. “It’s good to be home, back home where it all started,” said Tucker, wearing a No. 12 MSU basketball 2000 throwback jersey with his name on it.
