It was not a panic point, but Michigan State’s defense — so good for so much of the past two-plus seasons — certainly caused concern. And elevated anxiety. Against Indiana of all teams. Not exactly what Mark Dantonio’s veteran group anticipated. Not with the expected tough games ahead of the Spartans. But maybe, just maybe, MSU needed that awakening and shock before facing its toughest challenge in years: Justin Fields and Ohio State’s equally dominant offense.
