An estimated 6,000 people showed up and stuck around Breslin Center in the middle of the night to give the Spartans a hero’s welcome home from Washington after slaying Duke in the Elite Eight. There is an intensity to this, a fever that’s deeper than just a Final Four run. There’s a warmth to how fans feel about this group. It’s not just one thing.
