Brian Lewerke was still preparing to be a starter at the varsity level when he learned playing college football would become a reality. The summer before his junior year at Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, the quarterback received his first scholarship offer from then-Arizona State coach Todd Graham while at the university’s practice field.
