Tom Izzo didn’t look quite as agonized as usual on the sideline on Sunday during the final minute of a one-possession game against Maryland, and the reason why isn’t hard to guess. This Michigan State team is making free throws. It’s taking a high volume of them, making a high percentage of them and making them at key moments late in games. For Izzo, this is a new and welcome development after fielding more than his share of teams with free throw issues.
