The last time Mike Tressel called plays, it was 2001. That was at Wartburg College, a Division III program in Iowa. And, that was as the offensive coordinator. Tressel has spent the last 15 years of his career focused on defense and is now in charge. He was promoted by coach Mark Dantonio to Michigan State’s defensive coordinator after sharing co-coordinator duties with Harlon Barnett for the last three seasons.
