Harlon Barnett spent the last 14 years with Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio. The former Michigan State All-American defensive back (1986-89) who played seven seasons in the NFL was Dantonio’s secondary coach at Cincinnati for three years and followed him to East Lansing, where he spent the last 11 seasons. Barnett, who was Michigan State’s co-defensive coordinator the last three years, is now headed to Florida State to become the defensive coordinator for new coach Willie Taggart.
