Injuries were among the numerous factors that played into Michigan State’s demise last season. This fall, the No. 16 Spartans (6-1, 4-0 Big Ten) have dealt with injuries – just like every team in the nation – but been healthier overall. That has helped them earn a spot tied with Penn State and Ohio State for first place in the Big Ten East Division.
