Michigan State co-defensive coordinator and secondary coach Harlon Barnett is excited about Khari Willis’ potential as a starting safety this fall. Barnett believes players entering their third year can show the biggest improvement on the field. Willis, a 6-foot, 215-pound junior from Jackson Lumen Christi fits that billing. “He’s sharp, man,” Barnett said during MSU’s media day Monday. “I said this to our staff this off-season: Guys going into Year 3, whether you redshirted or didn’t redshirt, is when you see guys take off.
